Acupuncture for Neck Pain

Your neck is part of your back. That might sound kind of obvious, but there’s a reason this paragraph starts off this way. The two most common treatments we give at Advanced Holistic Center by far are acupuncture for neck pain, and low back pain. They’re probably tied for #1 as the most common ailment, and they both have to do with your spine. So, obviously taking proper care of your spine is very important, but almost no one does it (so don’t feel too bad). That’s where we come in.

We treat patients with acupuncture for neck pain every single day, multiple times a day. People of every size, every age group, and every level of activity get neck pain. There’s no silver bullet or one-size-fits-all solution for any illness, and neck pain is no exception. The causes are numerous: bad posture, traumatic injuries, sleeping on the wrong mattress with the wrong pillow, sitting for too long, excessive exercise (or insufficient exercise), stress, inflammation, and in Chinese medical theory even having a cold will give you neck pain. Luckily, since we treat it so often we’re pretty great at fixing it.

Once we take a look at the affected areas and figure out the root cause (called your “pattern of disbarmony” in Chinese medical theory), we can use a whole host of tools and techniques to get you back to normal. Aside from using acupuncture for neck pain we use electrical stimulation, gua sha, cupping, external and internal herbal remedies, tui na massage, cranio-sacral therapy, and moxibustion.
