One of the first things students of acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) learn is that ancient Chinese doctors, sages, martial artists, hermits, and rulers were more or less obsessed with achieving immortality. Some felt that it was achievable only in spirit, while others believed that true physical immortality was possible through various practices and potions. Although there aren’t any immortals coming forward to demonstrate the fruits of these labors, that doesn’t mean people didn’t learn a lot of other great stuff through their seeking. Using the practice of acupuncture for aging is one of those discoveries.
